Misty: Tomboyish Mermaid

Misty - One of my favorite Pokemon trainers and Ash's companions.

Background - Needs a lot of work. Location good, focus bad. Using a field near the end of the day is a wonderful idea. Try different fields that don't have distant objects in it like the buildings in this photo. That tends to confuse auto focus cameras (If that's what was used).

If the photo needs to be taken at this location a lot of shots need to be taken at different angles and distances from the Cosplayer. Try to keep the buildings out of the photo. If using a manual camera also try different settings.

After taking a series of shots either develope them or check them out on the camera's display. If needed take more shots. Make notes on what was done on each shot. Then pick out the best photo. I feel that this will help improve the photo taking technique.

Misty Cosplayer - The shadow effect is wonderful. You can easily tell that it's near days end. Their is a very contemplating expression is on her face. It looks like Misty is reflecting on where she recently came from. Outfit and hair / wig are right on. She definately looks like Misty. Her serious and casual looking pose definately adds to her reflection on the days events.

Misty also looks lonely. Where are her Pokemon? I suggest adding a realistic looking Water Pokemon Plushie to the photo. The plushie could be sitting in Misty's lap. Or Misty's contemplating look could indicate that she is wondering where her Pokemon are.

Overall a really good idea for a Misty Cosplayer setting. The field in the background gives the impression that their is a Marsh in it. Certainly a place to find a Water Pokemon.
